NORDIC HOUSE OF PRAYER Svalbard

From the End of the Earth to Jerusalem

”Go through, go through the gates; prepare the way for the people; build up, build up the highway; clear it of stones; lift up a signal over the peoples. Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.’ And they shall be called The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord; and you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken” (Isa 62:10-11).

God spoke these words more than 2700 years ago through the prophet Isaiah. The ends of the earth have a special calling to proclaim salvation to Jerusalem and a mighty revival and harvest of "The redeemed of the Lord" as the gospel returns to Jerusalem. The gospel originated in Jerusalem and has since then spread from there throughout the world. Jesus said to his disciples: ”But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Ac 1:8) In the last days, the gospel will return again to Jerusalem from the ends of the earth.

The fullness of the Gentiles will lead to the salvation of Israel and the coming of the Messiah. Paul wrote about this:

”Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.  And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, ‘The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob’;” (Rom 11:25-26).

For decades, the Lord has confirmed the words of Isaiah through many preachers who has prophesied of a mighty revival in the end times that will begin in the North and then spread down across Europe back to Jerusalem.

In 1952, Rolf Wiström wrote in his book God's Plan for the Nordic Countries:

"Over the lands of the north is a shining cloud with the power of God. God is calling people today to become conduits for this power. It is the time of the Nordic countries’ calling. God places the responsibility on us for the post-Christian countries of Europe. We have the cross in our flags. God wants us to experience the power of the cross in our lives and pass it on to Europe's longing millions. ... Christendom will once again experience the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit. New, great multitudes of obedient servants will again go out where the Spirit leads, and God's plan will be carried out quickly.”

In 1977, the Lord spoke to Lars Enarson, the founder of the Norden 7:14 prayer network, during a period of fasting and prayer: "I will send a revival that will be far greater than you have ever seen before in history. But it will only come to pass to the same extent that you pray." At the same time, he saw a powerful revival that began in the countries of the North and the British Isles, and then spread down across Europe.

In 2006, Gunnar Brudeli in Norway saw a powerful sight. He tells about this:

"I was standing on a big map of Europe. Suddenly, all the Nordic countries are dyed blood red. Then it starts to flow 4 red streams from the Nordic countries down the map, through the European countries and to Israel. The streams became wider and wider, eventually filling all the countries of Europe. The westerly current crossed from Spain to Morocco and followed the Mediterranean coast to Israel.
The currents were people who joined the gospel to re-evangelize Europe. The streams hqd the color of blood. The mission will cost the blood of martyrs on the way back to Jerusalem."

In 1986, Kjell Sjöberg wrote in the compendium God's Kingdom Plan for the Nordic Countries:

"The glory of God will fill the earth, but it will begin to come from the north. A South American evangelist came into a trans in the Spirit for seven days when he saw the River of Life going out from the throne of God and the Lamb. He saw how the Father poured out of His Spirit into the River of Life, and how the River of Life began to boil and overflow all its banks. Therefore, there must be a outlet from the flood of the River of Life. This drop came down over the Nordic countries and caused an explosion of God's glory in Sweden, Norway and Finland and then continued down through Denmark and to Europe. This revival would be marked by the love of the Father and the Spirit of the Father, and it would be a preparation for judgment, but through this revival multitudes would be swept into the kingdom of God.
The liberation of the earth begins at the ends of the earth. ... In the psalm about the rebellion of the antichrist against the Lord and his Messiah, the Messiah is given permission to claim the ends of the earth as his property as a strategy to meet the rebellion. ... Deliverance begins from the uttermost parts of the earth, and it is completed in Jerusalem when the King returns."

Svalbard is the world's northernmost inhabited place and thus represents the end of the earth in the north. Now is the time to enter into the prophetic calling of Isaiah 62:11 from the end of the earth by establishing the Nordic House of Prayer on Svalbard for continuous, focused prayer for Israel's salvation and revival in Europe!

In April 2016, during a Nordic prayer conference in the City Church in Stockholm, Claes-Göran Bergstrand saw a vision of the prayer ministry that God has called us to in the Nordic countries. He writes about this:

“In one of the meetings, where I sat in the back of the church during the worship, I had a vision. I saw the flags of the Nordic countries in front of the podium with their colors, yellow, blue, dark red, light red and white.
Suddenly the flags seemed to disappear, and I only saw their colors fusing together to form a wonderful pattern. Then I was reminded of the priestly garments that Moses made for Aaron and his sons and I opened the Bible to Exodus 2:28ff. There I saw that it was the same colors in the priest's garments that I had just seen in my vision, and I experienced how the Lord said (something like this):
“I want to put these priestly garments, on you who are from the Nordic countries, to be intercessors for your countries. This is the united priestly ministry that I want you to enter in the Nordic countries.” I felt a holiness around me as I stood before the Lord in worship for a long time."

No single Nordic country has all the colors of priestly garments in its flag. But collectively, all these colors are represented in the Nordic flags! The Nordic countries are the only countries in the world that have the Christian cross so clearly visible in their flags. Our countries are marked by God and have a common calling from God! The responsibility for the prayer ministry in the Nordic House of Prayer on Svalbard lies primarily with intercessors in the Nordic countries, but other nations will also be involved.

Priestly divisions of intercessors ministering in Svalbard

Peter wrote: you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. …  But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Pet 2:5, 9).

When David was to arrange the continuous priestly ministry in the Temple in Jerusalem, he divided all the priests into 24 priestly divisions that served for one week twice a year as well as during the feasts. See 1 Chronicles 24!

In the same way, we want to create priestly divisions of intercessors who, like the priests in the Temple, go to Svalbard to spend a week in continuous prayer in the Nordic House of Prayer.

This ministry of prayer will require great maturity and perseverance because it involves a serious spiritual battle against the powers of darkness.

We therefore want each priestly division to be led by a leadership team consisting of either a married couple or two brothers.

Each leadership team then mobilizes preferably four or more but at least two more intercessors from their church, prayer network or prayer community, who accompany them to Svalbard to pray during the week.

We want all the intercessors to go through the Nordic 7:14 School of Prayer with four lessons on video plus a work book.

The 24 hours of the day are divided into 8 three-hour shifts where each intercessor takes responsibility for one hour of prayer or more as well as participate in a joint prayer gathering with all the intercessors in the mornings at 9 am and also in the evenings at 7 pm. If you are a team of six intercessors, this means one one-hour prayer session per day above the common prayer gatherings in the mornings and evenings. Mondays are also spent in fasting for all who are able to do so.

Eventually, we believe that the Lord will give us a physical building for a house of prayer in Svalbard. Until then, we recommend that each team rent a hotel apartment from Hotel Polfareren in Longyearbyen with space for six beds. We are in contact with local believers in Svalbard who are able to help us get a favorable price, which is a great blessing. If there are more than six people in the team, it is possible to rent a room at Hotel Polfareren.
