Nordic Prayer Conference 3–5 Sep 2026

Estonia: A country with strong spiritual roots
I hear the Lord say: “Estonia is a small country but it has a great calling. Estonia will have a great impact on all of Europe!” Prophecy from Berthold Becker May 13, 2026
We look forward to our Nordic Prayer Conference in the Estonian capital Tallinn September 3-5, 2026 and believe that this conference will not only bless Estonia but will impart all of the other Nordic countries and even Europe.
Estonia has been influenced by both East and West throughout its history. After the Reformation, Estonia became part of Sweden and thus also the Lutheran Church for about 150 years between 1561 and 1710. This was followed by Russian occupation for just over 200 years until World War I in 1918 when Estonia became independent. This first independence lasted until World War II when Estonia was first occupied by Germany and then by the Soviet Union. The current independence came into being in 1991.
Estonia has its own language which is closely related to Finnish. Most people in Estonia today see themselves as part of the Nordic countries, even though the flag does not have a cross like the flags of other Nordic countries. The flag of the Estonian Navy does, however, contain a cross. Linguistically and culturally, there is a fairly sharp border between Estonia and the other Baltic states of Latvia and Lithuania. Estonia has just under 1.5 million inhabitants. About 20% of the population are Russian. The country belongs to the EU and NATO. People live in constant fear of Russia in the East.
Estonia, like the other Nordic countries, is a secular country, but liberalism has not affected the churches as much as in the rest of the Nordic countries. The LGBT movement has not infiltrated any of the denominations in Estonia. The Methodist congregation in Estonia broke away from the worldwide United Methodist Church in 2023 over the LGBT issue. It is in their large, modern facilty in the center of Tallinn that the Nordic Prayer Conference on September 3-5, 2026 will be held. There is strong support for Israel in the Christian churches in Estonia.
From 1967 to 1980, a very strong revival took place in the Oleviste Church in Tallinn, originally a Catholic cathedral and after the Reformation a Lutheran church. After the Soviet occupation, the authorities transformed it into a united free church for Baptists, Pentecostals and other free churches. People from all over the Soviet Union came to the church during these years and many were saved, healed, and delivered. Many were able to leave their crutches, wheelchairs and prostheses in the church after they were healed. It is estimated that hundreds of churches all over the world have been founded by those who were saved during this revival. Pastor Tom Kraeuter in the USA has described this mighty revival in the book The Great Soviet Awakening – The True Story the West Was Never Told.
In the 18th century, Count Zinzendorff preached in this church. The Herrnhuts then gained a strong foothold in Estonia, which has influenced Christianity in Estonia to this day. The Oleviste church is today a lively, Bible-believing and Spirit filled Baptist church with 1,400 members where, in addition to services on Sundays, they gather for prayer every morning. Every Tuesday morning, around 100 men gather for prayer in the church. Many men in other parts of Estonia follow the prayer via the Internet. Miracles also happen today in these prayer gatherings.
The Nordic Prayer Conference in Tallinn September 3-5, 2026 is organized by Norden 7:14 together with the Evangelical Alliance in Estonia and will be held in the modern and spacious Methodist Church in Tallinn with support from congregations in all denominations in Estonia including the Oleviste congregation.
Pray with us for this very important conference and book it into your schedule now.
