Continuous fasting and prayer for the calling of the North

The cross in the Nordic flags is a symbol of our spiritual heritage and calling. The Social Democratic Workers’ Party in Sweden was founded on Good Friday (“the day of the cross”) in 1889 and declared war on the cross and on Christianity’s influence. The atheistic spiritual power of socialism has taken hold of our cross-marked Nordic countries, and now Islam threatens to completely eradicate the Christian faith.

Historically, Islam has succeeded in doing this in many nations. The same will happen in our Nordic countries if we do not pray.

 

The Bible says: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Eph 6:12)

 

As of May 1, 2025, we have proclaimed continual fasting and prayer, where we take turns assuming responsibility for one day each, so that God will break the influence of these two “red-green,” anti-Christian spiritual strongholds over our nations. Prophetic voices have for decades spoken of a revival in the Nordic countries that will then spread down over Europe and back to Jerusalem. We fast and pray for the fulfillment of this. 1. Proclaim and exalt Jesus Christ as Lord over the Nordic countries!
“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Phil 2:9–11)
 

2. Pray that the influence of the anti-Christian spiritual powers of socialism and Islam will be broken over the Nordic countries!
“The scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous.” (Ps 125:3)
 

3. Pray that the Lord will stretch forth the scepter of His power over the Nordic countries!
“The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies!” (Ps 110:2)
 

4. Pray for an outpouring of the Spirit that breaks the enemy’s oppression and yoke over the Nordic countries!
“In that day his burden will be taken from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken because of the fatness [the anointing].” (Isa 10:27)
 

5. Ask for the rising young generation for the Lord!
“He regards the prayer of the destitute and does not despise their prayer. Let this be written for a future generation, that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord.” (Ps 102:18–19)
 

6. Pray for laborers for the harvest in the Nordic countries and in Europe!
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’” (Matt 9:36–38)
 

7. Pray that the glory of the Lord will be revealed in the Nordic countries!
“The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” (Isa 40:5)
 

8. Pray for the Nordic Prayer Conference in Ljungskile, January 2–4, 2026!
